What it's about
A festival lasts four days. A film shoot takes two weeks. An open-air event venue operates from May to September, then closes. In all three cases, buying is the wrong answer – renting, on the other hand, gives you exactly the capacity you need, for exactly as long as you need it.
The BirdieCar rental fleet is made up of the same vehicles we sell: electric golf carts with premium lithium-ion batteries, passenger shuttle buses and flatbed utility vehicles. They are backed by the same service centre and the same team – the only difference is that you rent them rather than own them.
Rental fleet
These vehicles are currently available to rent. The photos show vehicles from our own rental fleet. Available capacity changes from week to week, so we always confirm availability after you request a quote.

Rental options
Choose the option closest to your situation – we will carry it over to your quote request automatically.
A four-day festival, a weekend sporting event or a film shoot: the vehicle arrives on site, your team gets a short training session, and we take it away at the end of the rental. Daily billing, tailored to the type of vehicle and job – you don't have to deal with the technical back-up, charging or troubleshooting.
Every rental is priced individually: the fee depends on the vehicle type, the rental term, the number of vehicles and the location. That is why we do not give a list price but a specific, itemised quote – typically within one working day. The terms above are for information only; the final terms are set out in the rental agreement.
What the rental fee includes
What would be an extra cost and an extra headache with a fleet of your own is part of the rental fee with us.
We bring the vehicle to your site and collect it at the end of the rental. Within Budapest for a fixed fee; outside Budapest based on an individual calculation.
Scheduled maintenance and repairs during the rental are our job, backed by our own assembly workshop and service centre in Budapest, in operation since 2006.
If a fault occurs, we take action: we arrange the on-site repair or the collection, and for longer rentals we provide a replacement vehicle.
At handover, we go through operation, charging and safety information with the colleagues who will actually be driving.
Rental agreement, handover report, monthly invoice. For business rentals, the full fee can be accounted for as a business expense.
If the shoot overruns or the event lasts longer, we extend the rental – there is no need to sign a new contract.
How it works
01 — 1 working day
You tell us what you need the vehicle for and for how long. If you're not sure which type suits the job, we'll talk it through on the phone.
02 — 2–3 working days
We send you an itemised quote for a specific vehicle. Once you accept it, we move on to the rental agreement and agreeing the delivery date.
03 — agreed date
We bring the vehicle to your site fully charged, with a handover report. We go through how to operate it together with your team.
04 — during the rental
Servicing, maintenance and assistance stay with us throughout. At the end of the rental, we collect the vehicle and settle the account.
Who it's for
Renting pays off where you need the vehicle for a few days or a season, and not afterwards. If the cart would be working continuously all year round, buying works out better – and we usually tell you so when you request a quote.
Several vehicles for a few days, delivered to the site. Moving guests, crew and equipment around the grounds.
Passenger transport rented for a race weekend: between the track, the pits and the stands, without a noisy engine.
Loading and unloading exhibitors' materials, moving visitors between pavilions and the car park – in enclosed halls, too.
Moving crew and equipment on location, billed daily. The electric drive doesn't interfere, even while recording.
For short, packed shooting days: quick location changes, moving equipment and props with a flatbed vehicle.
Welcoming guests and transferring them from the car park to the venue – for a quiet, prestigious arrival.
Frequently asked questions
Because a list price would be misleading. The rental fee is determined by the vehicle type, the rental term, the number of vehicles, the location and the task together – the best arrangement for the same cart is completely different for a four-day festival and for a six-month hotel season. That is why we prepare a specific, itemised quote for every enquiry, typically within one working day. So instead of a “from” price, you see the amount you will actually pay.
In that case, we suggest an alternative. The make-up of the rental fleet changes from week to week, and in the summer peak season the popular types are booked up quickly. If the model you asked for is already booked, we offer an equivalent vehicle instead – often one that suits the task better. It is not unusual for a customer to leave with a different type from the one they came for, and for that to turn out to be the better decision.
You don't need to know – that's why we ask. Write to us or tell us where, what for and for how many people you need the vehicle, what the terrain is like and how often it has to make the trip. You can leave the rest to our experience: we have been serving events, hotels, beaches and industrial sites since 2006, so we can tell you fairly precisely what will work at your location and what won't.
You can rent a golf cart or a flatbed vehicle for as little as a single day. At the other end of the scale is long-term rental, where we can sign contracts for terms of up to 36 months. The most common option lies in between: seasonal rental, typically for 3–6 months, covering the opening period of a beach or a hotel.
On enclosed private property – hotel, industrial site, golf course – a driving licence is generally not required, but we always recommend having a valid licence. For public-road use, please check the exact requirements with the relevant authorities.
We do. Scheduled maintenance and repairs arising from normal use are part of the rental fee. Since 2006, BirdieCar has run its own service centre and assembly workshop in Budapest; when needed, we also come out to your site, and if a fault occurs, our Assistance service arranges collection as well.
We deliver it and collect it again at the end of the rental. Within Budapest, there is a fixed fee per vehicle for this, covering the round trip; for locations outside Budapest, we prepare an individual calculation based on the distance and the number of vehicles. Collection from our premises can, of course, also be arranged.
Under average load, the lithium-ion battery delivers a range of up to 70 km, and a full charge from a standard household socket takes 4–5 hours. In practice, this means the vehicle works during the daily shift and recharges overnight – you do not need to install any separate charging infrastructure.
Yes. For events and larger sites, we regularly rent out groups of several vehicles, including mixed line-ups – for example, passenger carts together with flatbed vehicles. For larger numbers, it is worth letting us know as early as possible, as the fleet gets booked up quickly in the summer season.

Tell us what you need the vehicle for and for how long. We will get back to you within one working day with the available capacity and an itemised quote – and if we think a different type would suit the task better, we will tell you why.
Most of the rental fleet for the summer is already booked by spring. If you know when you need the vehicle, it is worth getting in touch now.
